MTS Completes Key Phase in Establishment of IT Vertical
April 16, 2025
MOSCOW, Russia – Mobile TeleSystems Public Joint Stock Company (“MTS” or “the Company”) (MOEX: MTSS), a digital ecosystem, announces the completion of the main phase in the establishment of an IT vertical as part of the Group’s corporate transformation. All the Company’s core IT assets—MTS Digital, MTS Cloud, MTS Big Data, MTS AI and Visionlabs—have been consolidated into a single technology company called MTS Web Services (MWS). The head of the new entity is Pavel Voronin, First Vice President for Technology at MTS, who previously spearheaded the Company’s transformation from a telecom operator into a digital ecosystem.
MTS Web Services will offer a wide range of IT services, from AI services to infrastructure—cloud and platform solutions for various business needs. In its first phase, MWS will scale its strategic products, most of which are available both in the cloud and for deployment on customer infrastructure:
- AI services: the Cotype large language model and its lightweight version, Cotype Nano; Kodify 2, an AI assistant for developers; WordPulse, an AI speech analytics service; Audiogram, a speech synthesis and recognition platform; as well as content moderation tools, biometric verification solutions, deepfake detection and a medical imaging recognition service from Visionlabs;
- Platform solutions: MWS GPT, for managing LLMs; MWS Octapi, for seamless service integration; MWS SUNQ, for remote testing of mobile apps and websites; MWS Tables, a no-code app builder based on spreadsheets; MWS Data, for storing, transforming and visualizing data; MWS Container Platform, a containerization platform for developing and operating enterprise-scale applications; as well as a software development platform;
- Cloud products and services: an AI cloud combining GPU infrastructure with tools for working with machine-learning and large language models, an import-substituting cloud—virtual infrastructure based on Russian software and hardware—and a proprietary cloud platform.Denis Filippov (CEO of SberDevices from 2022 to 2025) will be the head of Artificial Intelligence; Igor Zarubinsky (Vice President for Infrastructure Development at MTS), Cloud Services and Digital Products; Oksana Vorobyeva (former CEO of MTS Digital), Operations; and Vyacheslav Grachev (former Head of the Technology Management Department at MTS), Technology Development.
The final stage of MWS’s restructuring will take place in late May, when the Company’s data centers will be transferred to the new entity.
“We are building a big tech company around three key trends—artificial intelligence, cloud solutions and platforms. We have deeply integrated our expertise in each of these areas into our products. Having verified their performance within our ecosystem, we’re now ready to customize them for external customers. Already this year, we expect several of our new platforms to generate up to RUB 1 billion in revenue,” said Pavel Voronin, CEO of MTS Web Services.
