AK&M rating agency assigns MTS highest-possible ESG rating
MOSCOW, Russia – Mobile TeleSystems Public Joint Stock Company (“MTS” or “the Company”) (MOEX: MTSS), a leading provider of digital and media services and Russia’s largest mobile operator, announces that the AK&M rating agency has assigned the Company a sustainable development rating of A++—the highest rating possible—with a stable outlook. This is MTS’s first-ever local ESG rating in Russia.
As part of its ESG strategy, MTS takes active measures aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Company’s sustainability priorities are based on a responsible approach to the environment, social responsibility and an ethical corporate governance model.
The AK&M rating agency lauded MTS Group’s approach to the environment and praised the Company for taking steps to avoid harming opportunities for future generations.
In the area of relationships with society, AK&M analysts noted the Company’s strategic HR approach to the development of human capital and positively assessed the implementation of its social policy and MTS Group’s major contribution to the socio-economic development and digitalization of the regions where the Company operates and to improving living standards.
Regarding corporate governance, the agency noted the excellent performance and transparency of the Company’s responsible business conduct and risk management system.

The sustainable development rating (ESG rating) assigned according to an accepted national methodology by the leading independent national rating agency, AK&M (JSC Rating Agency Analysis, Consulting and Marketing), demonstrates the ability and achievements of Russian companies in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Earlier, AK&M confirmed MTS’s rating for ESG reporting at the level of RESG 1, the highest possible.
